Four new members were elected by the Coordinating Committee of the Green Party of the United States to serve on the party’s Coordinated Campaign Committee (CCC) at its national conference in Washington, D.C., in July.
The committee welcomed Adrianna Buonarrotti of Michigan, Mike Livingston of Maryland, Gray Newman of North Carolina and Roy Williams of Texas.
Also, Williams was newly elected to serve as a CCC co-chair, and Juscha Robinson was re-elected to a third term. The committee extended thanks to departing members Joe Buchanan, Dan Johnson-Weinberger, Ben Manski and Logan Martinez.
With Greens running for local and state offices around the country this fall, the CCC wants to make sure that the national elections database is up to date and complete. Greens involved in campaigns can check http://www.greens.org/elections to make sure all their states’ Green candidates are listed.
If anyone is missing, Greens can contact the CCC member responsible for their states (available at http://www.gp.org/committees/campaign/) so the committee can get everyone into its records.
The CCC is helping to organize several campaign training sessions this year. One, the New England Regional Training School, will be held on Sept. 20-21 at Massachusetts Institute of Technology in Boston. Penny Teal at plteal@yahoo.com or (860) 536-4980 has more information.
There was also a Pacific Northwest Regional Training School Sept. 5-7 at Portland State University in Portland, Ore.†
Interstate party training sessions are also being planned for the Upper Great Lakes and the Great Plains. Dates will be announced as soon as they are available. Anyone interested in helping make these sessions happen can contact Dan Kinney at dkinney@greens.org.
As soon as the new office in Washington, D.C., is operational, it will be home to a CCC campaign hotline that candidates, campaign managers and others with campaign-related questions can call to get a quick response from an experienced campaigner.
The number will be disseminated as soon as it’s available and will be posted on the CCC Web site.
The Web site offers a Green campaign manual, downloadable Web site templates for candidates and applications for the CCC’s Matching Funds and Targeted Campaign Resources programs.
